Active rear door
Rear door heat exchanger
for high-density racks.
An active rear door with a microchannel water coil and its own fans. Rack exhaust goes through the coil and into water before it reaches the room. Built to the OCP Open Rack V3 and ACS Door Heat Exchanger specifications.

How it works
High-density racks
in an air-cooled hall.
Door fans pull the rack's hot exhaust through a water coil. The heat leaves in the facility water loop, and cooled air goes back into the room.
01
Rack exhaust
Hot air leaves the servers into the rear door.
02
Coil + fans
Door fans move it through a microchannel coil; the heat goes into water.
03
Back to the room
Cooled air returns to the room; the water carries the heat to the plant.
The family
Five models
in two lines.
The model number is the capacity class in kW at the OCP ACS Door Heat Exchanger rating point: 16 °C water in, 45 °C air in, 30 °C air out, at sea level.

S35
35 kW class

S45
45 kW class

S60
60 kW class

H80
80 kW class

H100
100 kW class

Inside the door
Fans on the rear face.
Coil behind them.
The door swings as one carriage. Its rear face is split into two fan leaves in front of the coil; open a leaf and the coil and plenum are behind it.

General arrangement, Standard line: 600 mm wide on the ORV3 rack, door swing shown in plan. Dimensions in mm.
Design
Design.
Pivoting carriage
One door carriage on a 600 mm ORV3 rack, with a split rear face of two fan leaves.
Microchannel coil
Danfoss microchannel heat exchanger in every model.
Rack-busbar power
DC power taken from the ORV3 busbar. No separate AC feed to the door.
N+1 fans
Designed to hold rated capacity with one fan out of service, with a backdraft baffle at each fan position.
Valve on load
Water flow follows the rack's heat load, with room dew point received digitally.
Two lines, one platform
Standard (S35, S45, S60) and High-Capacity (H80, H100) share the same door architecture.
Controls
Controls.
Door controls are designed for building and data-center management systems, with the protocols an ORV3 deployment expects.
