The heat path

Where each
product sits.

Heat leaves the servers in the rack exhaust, goes into water at a coil, and leaves the site through a dry cooler. QX makes the coils at the rack and in the hall, and the dry coolers in the yard.

01 / RACK Rear doors at the rack A rear door heat exchanger puts a water coil and fans directly on the rack exhaust. Heat goes into water before it mixes with room air, so high-density racks can sit in an air-cooled hall. Rear Door Heat Exchanger
02 / HALL CRAHs and fan walls CRAHs and fan walls pull hot-aisle air across chilled-water coils and return it to the cold aisle, under a raised floor or straight into the room. CRAHFan Wall
03 / PLANT The facility water loop The facility water loop carries heat from every coil in the building out to the yard.
04 / YARD Dry coolers in the yard Hyper QXchanger dry coolers push the heat into ambient air through finned coils, with no evaporation and no make-up water. Every array is laid out against the site's wind with our own CFD. Hyper QXchanger™

Flagship: Hyper QXchanger™

Dry coolers for
campus-scale loads.

A dry cooler built for the yard of a hyperscale campus: large fans turning slowly, coil banks that lower out of the casing for service, and an array layout checked against the site's wind before anything is built.

  • Waterless operation

Closed loop on water or propylene glycol. No make-up water, treatment, blowdown, drift or visible plume.

  • Large, slow-turning fans

Two large-diameter axial fans per module in shrouded stacks, each on its own variable-frequency drive. Low rotational speed keeps noise down.

  • Recirculation, solved

Big dry-cooler yards breathe their own exhaust and lose capacity on hot, windy design days. Hyper QXchanger arrays don't. We prove it on your site with our own CFD.
